About the Certification Process
Verify Your Prerequisite Qualifications

Have you been engaged in the professional practice of building design for at least six (6) years, at no less than 20 hours per week?

Have you accumulated industry-relevant educational credits? Such as training or courses relating to architecture or structural engineering in accredited universities, colleges, vocational or correspondence schools, or employment and on-the-job training, under the supervision of a Professional Building Designer, architect or professional engineer.

Select an Appropriate Examination Date - Here
Compile and Submit the Following:
- Three letters of recommendation from a builder, building official, professional building designer, architect or engineer.
- Download and fill out the CEU Verification Form here.
- One set of separate working drawings for three separate projects. These drawings must meet the minimum plan standards as established by the Council.
- Print and complete your application. Mail the completed application form along with the materials listed above on this page, and appropriate fees to the NCBDC National Office.
